1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Probato application (the "Application"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these terms of use. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the Application.

2. Description of service

Probato is an iOS mobile application for tracking the French probationary driving license ("permis probatoire"): points balance, milestone dates, key dates of the probationary period, a violation point-deduction table, and a post-license training mechanism to shorten the probation period. It runs entirely locally on your device, with no user account and no connection to a server.

3. License grant

Alexandre Paul grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Application on iOS devices you own or control, in accordance with App Store usage rules. This license is also subject to Apple's standard End User License Agreement available at: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

4. In-app purchase

Probato offers a single, non-renewing in-app purchase, "Probato Premium" (product identifier com.probato.app.premium.lifetime), which unlocks the full milestone timeline, point-restoration dates, reminders and notifications, and detailed history. This purchase is handled exclusively by the Apple App Store under its own terms. Refund requests are Apple's responsibility, not Alexandre Paul's.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to:

  • Not use the Application for illegal or fraudulent purposes;
  • Not attempt to decompile, disassemble, or reverse-engineer the Application;
  • Not circumvent technical protections, including those related to the in-app purchase;
  • Not use the Application in a way that could damage, disable, or overburden a system.

6. Intellectual property

The Application, its code, graphics, name, and visual identity belong to Alexandre Paul and are protected by intellectual property laws. The data you enter (profile, violations, dates) remains your exclusive property.

7. No warranty

The Application is provided "as is" and "as available," without any express or implied warranty, including fitness for a particular purpose, error-free operation, or continuity of service. You use the Application at your own risk.

8. Non-official nature

Probato is an independent application. It is not affiliated with the French State, ANTS, the road safety authority ("Sécurité routière"), or any administrative authority. The table and rules displayed in the Application are provided for informational purposes and may not reflect a recent regulatory change. Only the official record ("relevé d'information") issued by the competent authorities is authoritative regarding your actual points balance. You remain solely responsible for verifying your situation with official bodies.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable French law, Alexandre Paul's liability is limited to the price actually paid for the Application's in-app purchase. Under no circumstances shall Alexandre Paul be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages related to the use or inability to use the Application, including a decision made based on information displayed in the Application that later proves outdated or inaccurate.

10. Personal data

The processing of your data is described in Probato's privacy policy. The Application runs locally on your device; no data is transmitted to Alexandre Paul.

11. Changes to these terms

Alexandre Paul reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. The most recent version will be made available within the Application or via its App Store listing. Continued use of the Application after modification constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to their interpretation or performance shall fall within the jurisdiction of French courts, subject to mandatory consumer protection rules.
