1. Summary

Probato is a probationary driving license tracking application that runs entirely locally on your iPhone. It does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data with a server or third party.

2. Data collected

Probato exclusively stores the following information, on your device only (UserDefaults shared via an App Group between the app and its widget):

Data Storage Use

License issue date Local (App Group) Calculation of milestone and probation end dates
Points balance and initial capital Local (App Group) Displaying balance and milestones
Violations entered (date, category, points deducted) Local (App Group) Balance and point-restoration date calculation
Post-license training (if applicable) Local (App Group) Reduction of the legal probation duration

3. Data not collected

Probato does not collect:

  • Your GPS location
  • Your advertising identifier (IDFA)
  • Telemetry or analytics data
  • Biometric data
  • Contact information

4. Network

Probato makes no network requests, except for the exchanges strictly necessary to manage the in-app purchase via Apple's StoreKit. There is no server, no backend, and no user account specific to Probato.

5. Widget and App Group

Probato offers a home screen widget that reads a subset of the data above (points balance, next milestone) via an App Group (group.com.probato.app) shared only between the application and its widget, both installed on your device. None of this data leaves your device.

6. Notifications

Probato may send you local notifications (milestone upgrade, point restoration, low points threshold) if you authorize them. These notifications are scheduled and triggered locally on your device, without going through a remote server.

7. Backups

Your data may be backed up via iCloud Backup or iTunes/Finder if you have enabled these iOS features. This falls under Apple's privacy policy, not Probato's.

8. Your rights

Since all data is on your device, you can at any time:

  • Edit your profile in the Settings tab
  • Delete individual violations
  • Delete all data by uninstalling the application

9. Contact

For any privacy-related question, you can contact us at alexandre-paul@outlook.com.

10. Compliance

This application complies with:

  • GDPR regulations (no personal data transmitted to third parties)
  • Apple's App Store Review Guidelines regarding privacy
  • The PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy file declaring the absence of data collection
