Summary

Parzelle helps you track your German allotment garden (Kleingarten): the one-third rule, a sowing calendar, community work hours, and a garden journal. The information you enter is stored only on your device, and optionally in your own iCloud account if you enable it. Parzelle also uses an anonymous usage analytics tool (PostHog) to improve the app, described below.

1. Who we are

Parzelle is an iOS mobile app for German allotment gardeners, distributed by an independent developer, Alexandre Paul. Contact: alexandre-paul@outlook.com.

2. Data recorded

The following is recorded exclusively on your device (local storage, plus iCloud sync if you enable it):

Plot area, postal code (PLZ)	Compute the Drittelregelung reference and the sowing calendar's climate zone
Entered cultivation areas (dimensions, shrubs, trees)	Compute the total cultivated area

This data is never sent to a developer server, never shared with third parties, never used for advertising. Uninstalling the app permanently erases all local data.

3. iCloud

If you enable it, your data is synced through your own Apple iCloud account (CloudKit), enabling automatic backup and use across multiple devices. The developer has no access to this data: it travels through and is stored exclusively within Apple's infrastructure, under your Apple ID.

4. Location

Parzelle does not request GPS location access; only the manually entered postal code is used to estimate your climate zone.

5. Anonymous usage analytics (PostHog)

Parzelle uses PostHog to understand how the app is used and to improve it. PostHog is an open-source tool hosted on European (EU) servers, GDPR-compliant.

Data collected: anonymous usage events (e.g. app opened, cultivation area added, hour logged, paywall shown, purchase completed), without the detail of areas, hours, or journal entries entered.
Data not collected: detailed journal content, photos, location, advertising identifier (IDFA).

This data is associated with a random identifier generated at install time, which does not allow you to be identified. It is never used for advertising purposes nor shared with third parties. No advertising network, no other tracking tool.

6. Purchases and subscription

The Parzelle Pro subscription is handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit. Parzelle's publisher never sees or stores your payment information.

7. Retention and deletion

You can modify or delete your entered data from within the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all local data. If you use iCloud, you can also remove the data via iPhone Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Parzelle.

8. Minors

Parzelle is intended for anyone cultivating an allotment plot and does not collect any sensitive personal data beyond what is described above.

9. Changes

In case of a substantial change to this policy, the update date at the top of this document will be refreshed.
