1. Summary

Kadenzo is a GPS bike computer: speed, distance and elevation tracking, Bluetooth cadence and heart rate sensor support, ride history. Your rides are stored locally on your device. The app only collects anonymous usage data to improve the experience.

2. Data collected

Kadenzo stores your rides exclusively on your device via SwiftData (a local database protected by iOS): GPS route, speed, distance, elevation, Bluetooth sensor data (cadence, heart rate) if you connect one, and any bike maintenance parts you track.

This data is never sent to a developer server, never shared with third parties, never used for advertising. It only leaves your device if you export it yourself (GPX file, ride summary image) or through your personal iCloud backup. Deleting the app permanently erases all local data.

Anonymous usage data

We use PostHog to improve the app. PostHog only collects anonymous events (screens viewed, usage actions like starting a ride), the app version, device type and iOS version. This data is tied to a randomly generated, locally created identifier, with no link to your identity. PostHog never receives the content of your rides or your GPS position.

3. Permissions

  • Location: needed to trace your route and calculate speed and distance during a ride, including with the screen off or the app in the background ("Always" authorization). Kadenzo only uses your location during an active ride.
  • Bluetooth: to connect your cadence and heart rate sensors. Sensor data stays on your device.
  • Health: Kadenzo adds your finished rides to Apple Health (distance, duration, calories). Kadenzo never reads your health data.
  • Photos: only to save the ride summary image, when you tap Save. Kadenzo does not access any other photo in your library.

4. In-app purchases

Kadenzo offers an optional subscription, Kadenzo Pro, as well as a one-time lifetime purchase, both handled by Apple through StoreKit. Payment processing is handled by Apple under its own terms; the developer never receives any banking data.

5. Third-party services

The app uses PostHog (posthog.com) for the anonymous usage analytics described above. Data is hosted in the European Union and processing complies with GDPR. PostHog never receives any personal data or information that could identify you.

No advertising tracker, no social network integration, no third-party monetization SDK.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

Since your ride data is stored locally on your device and no personally identifiable data is transmitted to our infrastructure, we hold no data about you. You exercise your rights of access, correction and deletion directly from the app or by uninstalling it.

7. Children

The app is not intended for children under 13.
