Privacy Policy - Inhalo (Heart Coherence)

1. Summary

Inhalo is a heart coherence and guided breathing app. It records your sessions, settings and heart rate variability measurements. The data you enter is stored locally on your device. The app only collects anonymous usage data (screens viewed, actions taken) to improve the experience.

2. Data collected

Inhalo stores your data exclusively on your device via SwiftData (a local database encrypted by iOS). It is never sent to a developer server, never shared with third parties, never used for advertising. It only leaves your device if you export it yourself or through your personal iCloud backup. Deleting the app permanently erases all local data.

Anonymous usage data

We use PostHog to improve the app. PostHog only collects anonymous events (screens viewed, usage actions), the app version, device type and iOS version. This data is tied to a random, locally generated identifier with no link to your identity. PostHog never receives the content you enter, nor your health data.

3. Health data

Your heart rate and heart rate variability are sensitive health data under the GDPR. As such:

  • They are processed only on your device, via Apple Health (HealthKit) and encrypted local storage (NSFileProtectionComplete).
  • They are never transmitted to the developer, to PostHog or to any third party, and never used for advertising.
  • In line with Apple's rules, data read from Health is used only to provide the app's features.
  • Deleting the app erases the locally stored data.

4. Permissions

The app requests only the following permissions, at your initiative:

  • Apple Health (HealthKit), to read and/or save your heart rate and heart rate variability

You can revoke each permission at any time in iOS Settings.

5. Third-party services

The app uses PostHog (posthog.com) for the anonymous usage analytics described above. Data is hosted in Europe (EU) and processing is GDPR-compliant. PostHog receives no health data, no personal data and no information that could identify you.

No advertising tracker, no social network integration, no third-party monetization SDK.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

Since your data is stored locally on your device and no personally identifiable data is sent to our infrastructure, we hold no data about you. You exercise your rights of access, rectification and erasure directly from the app or by uninstalling it.

7. Disclaimer

Inhalo is a wellness app, not a medical device. The breathing exercises and heart coherence measurements are indicative; they make no diagnosis and do not replace medical advice. In case of a heart condition, discomfort or doubt, consult a healthcare professional.

8. Children

The app is not intended for children under 13.
