Terms of Use — Fête des Lumières: Parcours
Last updated: 2026-09-04
Purpose
"Fête des Lumières: Parcours" (shown on the device as "Parcours Lumières") is an iOS app that helps you plan an evening during the Fête des Lumières in Lyon: a walking route between locations, pedestrian-perimeter closing times, metro stations with closed entrances, closed footbridges, car parks and park-and-ride sites. By downloading or using the app, you accept these terms.
Independent app
This app is published by an independent developer, Alexandre Paul. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the City of Lyon or the organisers of the Fête des Lumières. "Fête des Lumières" is a registered trademark of its owner and is referred to here solely to describe the event the app relates to.
Nature of the information provided
The app gathers practical information: locations that traditionally host the event, closing times, transport and parking arrangements. This information is indicative and may change up to the last minute.
The official artwork programme is not published in the app until the City of Lyon has published it. Until then, the app says so explicitly and shows locations only, never presumed artworks.
Official communications from the City of Lyon, TCL and the emergency services remain the authoritative sources. Where they differ from the app, they prevail.
In-app purchase (full route)
The app offers a single, non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks the full route detail (all stops, walking times and footbridge alerts between each stop) as well as the end-of-evening assistant.
- This is a one-time purchase, valid for life for the Apple Account that made it. There is no subscription and no automatic renewal.
- Two price tiers exist over time: a launch price, in effect until 1 December 2026, then the standard price. A purchase made at the launch price remains valid afterwards and is never re-charged at the standard price.
- Payment is handled by Apple through your App Store account. Purchases can be restored at any time from the app ("Restore purchases").
- The free part of the app (list of locations, map, practical information, the first stop of your route, and reminders) remains usable without any purchase.
Safety and liability
The app is an organisational tool provided "as is". It does not replace on-site signage or instructions from police, emergency services or transport staff, which always take precedence.
You remain solely responsible for your movements, your safety and that of the people with you. To the extent permitted by law, the developer cannot be held liable for any indirect damage arising from use of the app, nor for information that became outdated between publication and your evening.
Intellectual property
The app, its design and its original content are the property of Alexandre Paul. Photographs of locations used in the app come from Wikimedia Commons under free licences (CC BY / CC BY-SA); their authors and licences are credited in the app's "About" screen.
Changes
These terms may change. If a substantial change is made, the update date at the top of this document will be revised.
