Privacy Policy — Sport Canicule

1. Summary

Sport Canicule is an app that helps you exercise outdoors safely during hot weather (running, cycling, trail running). It does not require an account or login: no email address, no password is collected. Your sport and health profile (age, declared conditions, weight) is stored exclusively on your device.

2. Data Collected

The information you enter during onboarding (age range, declared conditions such as asthma or heart conditions, sport(s) practiced, level, weight) is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or to any third party. It is used solely to calculate your safe time window and hydration plan, on your device.

Location

The app requests access to your location to fetch local weather conditions (temperature, humidity, UV, air quality) via the Open-Meteo service. Location is only transmitted to Open-Meteo for this weather request (see Section 4), is not stored on our servers, and is never shared with any advertising third party.

Session history

Your sessions (date, duration, window used, alerts received) are stored locally on your device to build your history. Uninstalling the app permanently erases this local data.

3. Permissions

The app requests the following permissions:

Location: to fetch weather and air quality at your position.
Notifications: to alert you of an upcoming safe window or a deterioration in conditions during an active session.

You can revoke each permission at any time from iOS Settings > Privacy & Security.

4. Third-Party Services

Open-Meteo — weather and air quality data (free API, no key, no account), anonymous requests containing your GPS coordinates at the time of the query. No identifying information is transmitted. See https://open-meteo.com/en/terms

PostHog — anonymous usage analytics, hosted on European servers. See below.

Anonymous Usage Analytics

The app uses PostHog to understand how it is used and improve it. PostHog is an open-source tool hosted on European (EU) servers, GDPR-compliant.

Data collected by PostHog: anonymous usage events (actions performed, screens viewed), app version, device type, iOS version.

Data not collected: name, email, phone, precise location, health profile, advertising identifier (IDFA).

This data is associated with a random identifier generated at install, which cannot identify you. It is never used for advertising purposes nor shared with third parties.

5. Subscription and Payment

Sport Canicule offers a Premium subscription (monthly or yearly), with no hidden free trial: price and billing period are clearly displayed before any payment. Payment is processed entirely by Apple via the App Store: the developer never receives, sees, or stores your payment card information. 6. Your Rights (GDPR)

Since Sport Canicule has no user account system and your profile and history are stored only on your device, we hold no server-side user database. You exercise your rights of access, rectification, and erasure directly by editing your data in the app, or by uninstalling the app (which erases all local data).

Regarding anonymous PostHog data, you may request its deletion by contacting us (see Section 9).

7. Health Disclaimer

Sport Canicule is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. The time windows and alerts shown are estimates based on public weather data and the information you declare; they do not replace the advice of a healthcare professional, particularly in case of a medical condition (asthma, heart condition). Never treat a window shown as "safe" as an absolute medical guarantee.

The app is not intended for children under 13.
