Privacy Policy - Routino

Last updated: 2026-08-16

1. Who we are

Routino (the "App") is an iOS picture-based routine board application for children, published by an independent developer. The App is distributed on the App Store under the name Routino.

2. Data collected

Routino requires no account or sign-up. The information you enter (child profiles, first name, avatar, routines, steps, notes, photos added by parents, progress and stars) is stored exclusively in the App's sandbox on the device, using SwiftData. No data is transmitted to any external server, third-party service, or the App's developer.

The App also collects pseudonymized usage events through PostHog (see section 4), with no link to the first name, avatar, routines or photos entered in the App.

3. Children's photos

Photos added by parents to illustrate a routine step are stored only locally on the device, in the App's sandbox, and are never transmitted to a server, synced, or shared with the developer or any third party. A contextual consent message is displayed when the first photo is added, to make this explicit to parents. These photos are only accessible to whoever has physical access to the device.

4. Trackers and advertising

Routino uses PostHog as its only analytics SDK, to record pseudonymized usage events (for example: app opened, onboarding completed, routine started, routine completed, step checked, step added, paywall shown, Routino Premium purchased or restored). These events never include any photo, child's first name, or routine content.

PostHog data is hosted on European Union servers (eu.posthog.com) and processed on a pseudonymized basis, with no link to the civil identity of the user or the child. Automatic screen-view tracking and session replay are disabled in the App's configuration. Routino contains no advertising network and no other third-party tracking SDK.

5. Aggregated or anonymized data

The usage events described in section 4 may be analyzed in aggregated, anonymized form to understand overall App usage, without identifying any individual user or child.

6. User rights (GDPR)

Since the information entered in the App (including children's photos) stays exclusively on the device, your rights to access, rectification, portability and erasure are exercised directly on the device:

  • View your data: it is fully visible and editable within the App (Settings).
  • Delete your data: remove the App from the device to erase all local data, including photos.
  • PostHog data: to request access, rectification or deletion of the pseudonymized events tied to your use of the App, contact alexandre-paul@outlook.com.

7. Minors

Routino is designed to be used by parents or legal guardians for the benefit of children aged 3 to 8, under adult supervision. The App collects no child data outside the device: photos, first names and profile information stay stored locally only and are never transmitted to the developer, any third party, or a server, as described in section 3 above. Child Mode is locked and its exit is protected by an adult gesture, to prevent accidental manipulation by the child.

8. Changes to this policy

Any material change to this policy will be reflected in the update date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, communicated through App Store release notes.
