Summary
Risque Canicule shows the real "feels like" temperature at your location, colored according to a danger threshold computed from your health profile, plus a hyperlocal heat map around you. Your health profile and location are used only for this calculation, stored locally on your device, and never sent to a developer server. Risque Canicule also uses an anonymous usage analytics tool (PostHog) to improve the app, described below.
1. Who we are
Risque Canicule is an iOS app distributed by an independent developer, Alexandre Paul. Contact: alexandre-paul@outlook.com.
2. Data stored locally
The following is stored exclusively on your device (UserDefaults):
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Health profile (age range, pregnancy, cardiac or respiratory condition, diabetes, heat-sensitive medication, home characteristics) | Compute your personal heat danger threshold |
| Tracked profiles of relatives (name, health profile, address) — Premium feature | Show estimated temperature at a relative's location |
This data is never sent to a developer server nor shared with any third party other than the services listed below, strictly necessary for the displayed calculation.
3. Location
Risque Canicule requests access to your location ("While Using") to show the exact feels-like temperature at your position and build the heat map around you. Your GPS coordinates are sent, at calculation time, to the public weather and mapping services listed below, never linked to your identity by the developer. You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings; the app will then show data for a manually searched address (Premium feature) or remain limited.
For tracked profiles (Premium), the address is geocoded once when entered and stored locally: Risque Canicule does not track a relative's real-time location.
4. Third-party services used for the heat calculation
| Service | Data sent | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Open-Meteo | GPS coordinates | Reference temperature and forecasts |
| OpenStreetMap / Overpass | GPS coordinates | Land cover type (water, park, woods, dense buildings) to refine the local estimate |
| Apple MapKit | Searched address | Address search and geocoding (Premium feature) |
5. Analytics (PostHog)
Risque Canicule uses PostHog, hosted in Europe, to anonymously measure app usage (for example: onboarding completed, map area viewed). These events contain no personally identifiable data.
6. Subscription
Risque Canicule Premium is a subscription managed by Apple through the App Store. Payment, renewal and cancellation are handled exclusively by Apple; the developer receives no banking data.
7. System permissions
Risque Canicule requests access to your location (see section 3). No other system permission (notifications, camera, contacts) is currently used.
8. Your rights (GDPR)
Since your data is stored locally on your device, you keep full control. You can edit your health profile at any time from the app's settings, or delete the app to erase all your local data. For any question, contact alexandre-paul@outlook.com.
9. Changes
This policy may be updated; the date at the top of the page reflects the latest change.
