Summary

Plongo is a scuba dive logbook where each dive is entered by hand (date, site, depth, duration, stops, buddy, gear, photos and notes). What you enter is stored on your device only. Plongo uses no account, no password and no server of ours. The app also uses an anonymous usage analytics tool (PostHog), described below.

1. Who we are

Plongo is an iOS app published by an independent developer, Alexandre Paul. Contact: alexandre-paul@outlook.com.

2. Data you enter

You enter your dives (date, site, depth, duration, stops), your diver profile (certification, dive count), your buddies, sites and gear, plus any photos and notes you attach to a dive.

This data stays on your device. It is not sent to any server, neither ours (we have none) nor a third party's. We never have access to it.

No account is required. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number.

3. Photos

You can attach photos from your photo library. Selection goes through Apple's system picker, which hands the app only the images you pick: Plongo never gets access to your whole library. Selected images are stored locally with your data.

4. Location

Plongo does not request your location and accesses no location data.

5. Notifications

The app can send you reminders. These are local notifications, scheduled and shown by your device. No remote push is used, so no notification identifier is sent to any server. You can decline them at install time or turn them off later in iOS Settings.

6. Anonymous usage analytics (PostHog)

Plongo uses PostHog (EU hosting, eu.posthog.com) to understand how the app is used and improve it. The events sent are usage events: app opened, onboarding finished, subscription screen shown, purchase made.

What is never sent: the content you enter. The data described in section 2 does not leave your device and is not shared with PostHog.

These events are tied to a random technical identifier, specific to the installation, which cannot identify you and is not linked to any account. Legal basis: legitimate interest in improving the product (GDPR article 6(1)(f)). For any request about this data, write to alexandre-paul@outlook.com.

7. Purchases

Plongo offers an auto renewable subscription (monthly or yearly), with a free trial clearly shown before any commitment.

Payments are handled entirely by Apple. We neither see nor store your payment details. Apple only tells us whether the purchase is active.

8. Retention and deletion

Your data stays as long as you keep it. Deleting an item in the app deletes it for good. Uninstalling the app erases all local data.

9. Children

Plongo is not intended for children under 13 and knowingly collects no data about them.

10. Your rights

Because your content lives on your device, you keep direct control over it at all times (view, edit, delete). For the anonymous usage events described above, you can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure and objection by writing to alexandre-paul@outlook.com.

11. Changes

This policy may change. The last updated date at the top of this page applies.
