Acceptance
By using Licko (the "App"), you accept these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Service description
Licko is a jazz improvisation training app. It generates practice phrases ("licks") over different harmonic progressions, in all 12 keys, playable along with an audio backing track.
License
Alexandre Paul grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license. Also subject to Apple's standard EULA: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
Free content and subscription (Licko Premium)
Licko is free to use: unlimited phrase generation on the major ii-V-I progression, in all 12 keys, with most transformations and one active phrase in the notebook.
Licko Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, that unlocks the 8 other harmonic progressions (minor ii-V-i, altered dominant, turnaround, rhythm changes, blues ending, modal vamps...), the "move to another progression" transformation, an unlimited notebook and export (MIDI, PDF, MusicXML).
- The exact price, in your currency, is shown in the app and on the App Store before any purchase. No free trial is offered.
- Payment is charged to your Apple account upon purchase confirmation, then at each renewal.
- The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel the subscription at any time in your Apple account settings.
- Purchases can be restored from the app, including after a device change.
- Purchases are handled exclusively by the Apple App Store, under its own terms. Refund requests are Apple's responsibility.
Acceptable use
No illegal use, no reverse engineering, no circumvention of protections. Exported phrases (MIDI, PDF, MusicXML) are for your personal practice; you remain responsible for how you use them.
Generated content, not a teacher
The phrases Licko generates are procedurally created from harmonic and rhythmic rules. Licko is a practice tool and does not replace a music teacher or structured musical training.
Intellectual property
The App, its generation engine and its original content belong to Alexandre Paul. Files you export (MIDI, PDF, MusicXML) belong to you and may be freely used for your personal practice.
No warranty
The App is provided "as is", without warranty of being error-free or fit for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Alexandre Paul's liability is limited to the price paid for the App (zero if free). No liability for indirect or consequential damages.
