Privacy Policy — Fluvo (WaterMeter)
Last updated: 2026-05-28
Summary
Fluvo does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All information you enter in the app stays exclusively on your device.
1. Who we are
Fluvo (published under the internal code name "WaterMeter") is a mobile application for iOS that helps you track your water and electricity meter readings and detect possible leaks. It is developed and maintained as an independent project.
2. Data we do NOT collect
Fluvo does not collect:
- Personal identification information (name, email address, phone number, etc.)
- Location data
- Device identifiers
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Crash reports sent to external services
- Any data transmitted to a remote server
The app has no network activity. There is no backend, no API call, no analytics SDK, and no third-party SDK of any kind.
3. Data stored locally on your device
The following data is stored locally in the app's private sandbox on your device:
| Data | Purpose | Storage location |
|---|---|---|
| Meter names and types | Identify your meters | SwiftData (SQLite, app sandbox) |
| Meter readings (index values, dates) | Calculate consumption and detect leaks | SwiftData (SQLite, app sandbox) |
| Photos of your meter display | Visual record attached to a reading | Documents/photos/ (app sandbox) |
| App preferences (onboarding state, notification settings) | Remember your choices between sessions | UserDefaults (app sandbox) |
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it yourself (for example, via the CSV export feature or iCloud Backup, which you control in iOS Settings).
4. Camera and photo library access
Fluvo requests camera and photo library access solely to let you photograph your meter display. Photos are stored in the app's private sandbox (Documents/photos/) and are not shared with any third party.
5. Notifications
Fluvo may send you local push notifications to remind you to take readings or alert you to a possible leak. These notifications are generated entirely on-device. No notification content is sent to or processed by any external server. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings > Notifications > Fluvo.
6. iCloud Backup
If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, iOS will include the app's local data (meter readings and photos) in your iCloud Backup. This is controlled entirely by iOS and your personal iCloud settings — Fluvo does not initiate or control this backup process.
7. Data retention and deletion
All data is stored on your device for as long as the app is installed. You can delete individual readings or meters from within the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all app data from your device.
8. Children's privacy
Fluvo is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
If this privacy policy changes in a future version of the app, the updated policy will be published alongside the app update. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document will reflect the most recent revision.
