Summary

The data you enter in Compo (group name, players, levels, positions, sessions) is stored on your device. Compo also uses an anonymous usage analytics tool (PostHog) to improve the app, described below.

1. Who we are

Compo is an iOS app for building balanced sports teams, for coaches and PE teachers, published by an independent developer, Alexandre Paul. Contact: alexandre-paul@outlook.com.

2. Data stored on your device

The following data is stored in the app's storage, on your iPhone, and never leaves the device except through your personal iCloud backup:

Compo collects no personally identifiable data: no real name required, no e-mail, no phone number. The player names you enter stay only on your device.

3. Permissions used

Compo requests no system permission: no camera, photos, microphone, location, contacts or HealthKit.

4. Anonymous usage analytics (PostHog)

Compo uses PostHog to understand app usage and improve it. PostHog is an open-source tool, hosted on European (EU) servers, GDPR-compliant.

Data collected: anonymous usage events (actions taken, screens viewed), app version, device type, iOS version.
Data not collected: name, e-mail, phone, location, advertising identifier (IDFA), your players' names.

This data is tied to a random identifier generated at install, which cannot identify you. It is never used for advertising or shared with third parties. No advertising network, no other tracking tool.

5. Sharing a composition

Compo lets you share a team composition as an image (a screenshot generated by the app). This file is created on your device and only leaves it if you choose to share it through your iPhone's native share sheet (Messages, e-mail, WhatsApp, etc.). Compo hosts no sharing server and creates no public link.

6. In-app purchase (Compo Pro)

Compo Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase, processed by Apple through your App Store account. It unlocks post-generation locking, multiple groups, session history and sharing the composition. No payment data is collected or stored by Compo itself.

7. Retention and deletion

You can delete a player or a group at any time from the app. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all data stored on the device.

8. Minors

Compo does not specifically target minors and collects no sensitive data. The app is suitable for general use (coaches, PE teachers, group organizers).

9. Changes

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app or to regulations. In case of a substantial change, the update date at the top of this document will be revised.
